Real Monitors... Dreams..1

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh, This would be a series In Shaa Allah, whenever I think of something for research, I'll post here In Shaa Allah. So, what about the Real Monitors, I was dreaming yesterday while sleeping :D for a solution for the light problem in LCD... What is the light problem anyway? If you have a Laptop or LCD monitor, u will get what I mean, if you have a strong light in the room or a light directed to ur LCD Monitor, u will not c the monitor's contents well. Why ? Let's imagine this, if u have a box in Red and it's background is Yellow, how do u c them ? the LCD monitors have a light in them to let u c but if u directed a light towards the monitor the reflected light (that ur eye catches to c) is the reflection of the Plastic cover of the monitor not the reflection of the "colors" in the contents... Hope you got the problem cuz I'm not a good "explain-er" anyway... I thought of thing... What if we have something t

Decieving Youth... Dreams full of Treasures

Alsalam alikom wa r7mat Allah wa barkatoh, How r u All ? hope you are all fine... Today I received this email Today's Email From The Desk of ********* Bill and Exchange Officer Foreigner Remittance Dept African Development Bank Burkina Faso Dear Friend, I am the officer of bill and exchange at the foreign remittance department of African development bank. In my department i discovered an abandoned sum ofUS$10.5 US dollars (ten million five hundred thousand US dollars) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his entire family in July 2000 plane crash. website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/859479.stm Since we got information about his death, we have been expecting his next of kin to come over and claim his money because we cannot release it unless some body applies for it as next of kin or relation to the deceased as indicated in our banking guidlings and laws but unfortunately we learnt that all his supposed next of kin or relation di

Events... Serializing without them..

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh, Today I was making some project for the college when I faced the following problem : public class Picture : PictureBox { public List < ShapeBase > _shapes; } public class ShapeBase { # region DataMembers # endregion public event EventHandler PositionChanged; } the problem is, if u tried to save that _shapes list, u will get an error saying that Picture Class is not marked as Serializable.. Why does C# Compiler bother itself with Picture Class ? - Because, it's one of the subscribers to the event PositionChanged... What if I don't care about hte subscribers ? I just care about the DataMembers in ShapeBase - Actually this is the problem :D, be patient and u will get the solution.. Can't I just mark the event as [Nonserialized] ? - C# Compiler will shout on ur face saying that PositionChanged is not a field. Now the solutions, The simplest one is instead of marking it as [NonSerialized], mark i

The art of Practical Exams...

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah w abarakatoh Practical Exams are Art, that's what FCIS Doctors proved recently and I recommend IEEE & ACM to publish this in papers... I'm in the 4th year (In Shaa Allah Graduation Year), so I passed 6 semesters (and In Shaa Allah about to pass the 7th) at the end of each of them, there were practical exams in which doctors differ... Let me tell u what happened this semester (the 7th) maybe in a later post I'll speak about the 6 past-semesters... Last Saturday we had an exam in a new-interesting subject that is a research department all over the globe. this sounds nice so far... the materials are taken from Masters that are discussed in our faculty which is good too... But, let's come to the practical exam... We were supposed to deliver a package that will be tested on certain Input file provided by the doctor, and u r asked to display certain things... so if u display it right (compared to a judge-output data ;) ) then u pass, if not,

Morocco...Day 4... The Big Day

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barkatoh It's now Saturday, 7:00am. We waked up fully enthusithied... all wore our T-Shirts, I had problems in choosing what to wear under the T-Shirt cuz they restricted that everybody should show up in T-Shirts.. At last I wore a Black T-Shirt (edooh long) that is originally my sleep-clothes.... I didn't like how I looks but it's ok... I don't care much... the most important thing is to appear in T-Shirts and not to catch cold.... Everybody else did nearly the same.. we were ready to go and BEAT THEM ALL ;) ... Few minutes later, they came to pick us, we arrived on time.. actually before the time :D, the Contest was supposed to start at 10:00am, we were there at about 9:20am, the runners guided us to some green flat place, where every group made a circle and they started to have pics, chats with others and such... Time passes, and it seems they will not start the contest on time... we started to go to each group and pic a photo for th

Google Custom Search Engine...

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh, I don't remember what exactly i was doing minutes ago when I hit with Google Custom Search Engine Creator web site... they offer u to make a Custom Google :D... that searches only in specific sites and maybe execluding some other sites... I've added one, that concerns ACM issues only, u will find it in the Right panel in my blog... If you have sites to share, feel free to visit ACM CSE and add them.. or post them as Comments here and I'll add them.. I really want this to grow, try to help :) Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh

Morocco...Day 4

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barkatoh This episode became so long... I don't want to feel boring... so, this post will be as short as I can, to be able to post the most important one about the Contest In Shaa Allah.. Today is Friday (We remembered this important info by accident :D, it's friday, there is a prayer...).. Anyway.. we prepared ourselves, went down and luckly we found the bus waiting for us.. We found that we went early, cuz they were registering the remaining teams there... so we had to wait about an hour till the keynote started... I was not interested a lot in the keynote, but some of the professors spoke were interesting to me that I kept silent just listening to them. One of them spoke about his life story till he became what he is now... What I really liked, is that the Dean of the schoolf of Computer Science is not so old and is thin (which contradicts with the Egyptian rules :D) Anyway, for the rest of keynotes I spent the time trying to access any wire

Thank you FCISians...

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh, Today, I felt I owe FCISians a lot... really a lot.. I'll tell u what happened, The day before yesterday, we felt we really need someone to explain Visualization (which is a subject in my department) the problem is that our Professor is dealing with us in a bad way, and the selected Assistant is the same... so we felt we r lost, we know nothing and we will have an exam next Saturday In Shaa Allah.. So we called Omar Othman, he is elder than us by 1 year, graduated and applied for Masters this year In Shaa Allah... we asked him to come and explain anything he remembers in the subject, he scheduled a meeting for us today at 10:00am and he said he will just try to remember some parts so that he can help as much as he can. Today, we came and found that he and 3 of his friends (whom are our friends too) have decided to divide the work upon them, so everyone of them studied some part of the subject and came today to explain it to us.. They sta

Morocco...Day 3

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barkatoh Actually, I'm not so free nowadays cuz we r having exams so soon... but I prefered to post what I still remember cuz u know my memory, few days later I may forget the contest results itself :D... Anyway, I read my last post about Morocco, last point was that we went to sleep and we left Abdalla waiting our luggage... ah wait, I forgot to tell u something about the Hotel, when we went yesterday to the hotel, we found that Dr.Said has reserved only 3 rooms, one Single for him, 1 4-bed room for Amigos + Abdalla and 1 3-bed room for my team... this was something that annoyed me but I was just too tired to be annoyed... so I took the key and went to the room.... Next day, my mobile rang for Fajr Prayer, I tried to awake my colleagues (Mustafa & Abdel Rahman) but they were dead sleep, I prayed alone... of course I was still in my last day's clothes, then went deeeeply into sleep... Later (at 7:30am) or something like this, they awaked me

Morocco...Day 2

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat allah wa barakatoh Where have we stopped last time.... mmm yes, when we just arrived to Casablanca airport, the air port is really nice... it's just BIG, when u go out, u find a LOT of green colored things everywhere... just like a forest, actually, they (the mom and her daughter whom we met on the plane) that the airport is about 37km away from the town itself... (it reminds me with Cairo AirPort which is 5 minutes away from my house), anyway... the place there was just nice that Mustafa and me couldn't stop ourselves from going outside and having some pics and a single video for the place... it was just nice... Ah, i forgot to tell u that during our 12-hour stay in the airport, we managed to put our names on the waiting menu for a flight travelling at 6:00pm (remember, we arrived at 11:00am and were supposed to travel again at 11:00pm, so this flight would make our stay only 7 hours instead of 12... good) Let me tell u the story of that waiting list..

Morocco... Day 1

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh, Sure I've to speak about our short trip.. it's just a trandition to speak about ACM Contests... So.. mm where to begin.. Ok, let's start from the early begining.. 4:00am, Dec-29... Mama is calling me to wake up in order to catch the plane.. I waked up so easily (Al 7amd lellah), prayed al Fajr, and got ready to go down, I ensured I have the Digital Camera (Cuz I don't like to forget bringing it like last year), The laptop, the chargers... everything is fine ? ok, let's go.. it was now about 05:15am, when Abdel Rahman (a teammate of me) called cuz he was already there waiting for us.. I told him that I'm just about to go.. few minutes later, I received another call from Mustafa (my other teammate :D..) and again I told him, just minutes and I'll be there... (it seems they were afraid that I change my mind and not travel :D.. hah J/K ;) ), I arrived there to find everybody is already there... I just said good bye to
