ITWorx Disqualification

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat allah wa barkatoh

Previous post ...... ITWorx Qualification

Three days ago, I've been informed about the results of ITWorx choices.. they chose 1 from each team.. so they chose Ramy, Moussa and Mustafa Mohie.

I can't say I didn't care about them... I got sad.. really sad, not for losing ITWorx but for the fact that they "refused" me... this hurted me so much.. I tried not to make people c that in my face or words, cuz it would hurt me to death if I found someone saying "ma3lesh, bas enta kowyes wallahi msh 3aref homma leeh keda" and such things..

That day (3 days ago) I couldn't think well...
The next day to it, I started thinking about the reasons.. why didn't they choose me.. why was I out of choice.. r they my qualifications ? am I not smart enough ? they didn't interview me.. they judged through the C.V.s and most of us have nearly the same qualifications... read the same books, shared the same projects.. so what is the difference..

Its mainly as everybody told me and I was convinced with, I don't write a good C.V. I don't show sell myself well..

I started checking google to find some tutorials or advices for writing C.Vs..
I found some... and checked Tifa's & Moussa's mm I couldn't get the real core difference between mine and their..

One of things I found online was "never write a cv that takes more than 2 sheets" while Moussa's is 5 pages : ...

The confusion I was in and the depression mm made me make 2 C.V.s one that looks like Moussa's and one that looks like Tifa's :D.. I laughed a lot after finishing them..

Yesterday.. I applied to some companies including Vodafone.. mm I began to lose hope that they will contact me :(

Allaho al mosta3an.. If some one read this post ( la kaddara allah ) bellahee 3alaykom pray for me :)

  2. Don't think that you are not good enough, or not smart enough just because a company didn't give you a call when you sent your cv,
anyway the percentage of being accepted by a company in a public job announcement is less than 30%. Personally I had about 30 interviews in a period of 4 months and in some days I had 2 interviews, it is life and that's how it's done

Windows7 adds Math Input Panel

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh… I was reading a windows team post about Input Panels improvements in Windows7 [ here ]. When at the end I saw a very interesting –intuitive if you wish- new thing… which is, as you guessed, the Math Input Panel… Yes, that crappy font is mine… I “drew” that by mouse as I don’t have a tablet pen/pc. You can then paste it directly into word and it’ll recognize it as an editable equation… During my tests, the output panel (the top part) hanged, but I liked that the drawing panel was still responsive and I could still write/erase… till the top one started to respond again… One other thing to know, after you click Insert (that button down there) it copies the equation in MathML [ Wikipedia link ] format.. which is a standard way of representing equations and hence any application that recognizes the format can insert it not as an image but as a nice editable equation… If you think it recognized something wrong, you can click “Sele

Visual Studio 2008 Not saving changes or project properties?

Alsalam alikom wa ra7mat Allah wa barakatoh (Peace upon you) I’ve recently ran into problems with VS 2008. Summarized here: When you try to edit the project properties (specially C++ projects) you are faced with a little nice message saying “Exception from HRESULT: 0xF9F0F308”. Sometimes when you are editing a file (specially large ones), VS doesn’t recognize you’ve made changes (ie doesn’t display that ‘*’ in the files tabs) hence, when you save, nothing actually gets saved. For those 2 problems, a friend explained the problem and a work around (till they officially release a fix)… Open up a Visual Studio 2008 Command Prompt Run cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE" Make a backup copy of devenv.exe in case something does not work right. ie. copy devenv.exe devenv.exe.bak Run editbin /largeaddressaware:no devenv.exe Happy VSing… :)
